Even though I felt like I didn’t know anybody there–people surrounded me like they were my brother and sisters. People from all different walks of life come here with the one purpose, so you have common ground with everyone.
Well, I came from Brooklyn New York, was born there. We moved over to Connecticut when I was about four years old. My dad and my mom were separated, and that’s when my mom started learning about faith and about God. She made the decision to follow Christ, and it was the turning point in my life. We started going to Crossroads in East Hartford. I made the personal decision to walk with Christ and at fifteen, I felt God gave me the call to full time ministry.
God showed me everyone around me, and said I would be ministering to this generation. So, when I was about twenty-one I signed up for Campus Experience and filled out the application. I was so nervous, ’cause I felt like nothing would work. It would be my first time away from home–but when I got on campus I had a sense of peace. Blessing after blessing came upon me.
He opened up the door for finances, even though I had felt like I didn’t know anybody there–people surrounded me as if they were my brother and sisters. People from all different walks of life come here with the one purpose to serve God and to be in leadership for God. And because of that, that’s the ground you have in common with everybody.
The faculty and staff want to see you succeed. They want to see you get good grades, but not only that–want to see you take that knowledge out into ministry. The chapel services have been amazing. People from all walks of life and all around the world come to speak and encourage the students at Northpoint. I just thank God for all the speakers who have poured their lives into me in chapel.
I would say to anyone that’s wanting to come here: be ready to be academically and spiritually challenged. If you want to take God’s word seriously, and you feel a call to leadership and academics, than Northpoint is the place for you.
