CHURCH THERAPY ASSOCIATES
Northpoint has partnered with Church Therapy Associates, a non-profit that provides professional mental health counseling services on our campus.
These services are provided for free to students so that all may have the opportunity to meet with a counselor either weekly or biweekly if needed.
Mental health counseling can help you work through a variety of issues, such as depression, anxiety, life adjustment challenges, or trauma. You can do this individually or in groups. Married students can receive marriage counseling as well.
The Church Therapy Associates counselors are Master’s-level counseling students working under intensive weekly supervision. They will meet with you in an office on our campus at a scheduled appointment time. The first session will involve signing paperwork, talking about your background, and discussing your goals for counseling.
Most students meet with a counselor for a minimum of one semester and frequently continue through the entire school year (no counseling in school breaks according to the academic calendar). The length of your counseling will depend on your mental health needs and desires. Sessions are approximately 45 minutes.
If you are already seeing a counselor or therapist somewhere else, you should generally continue meeting with that person unless you feel the counseling is unhelpful to you.
If you are not meeting with a counselor and would like to give it a try, just text TALK to 978-308-2240 to be connected with a counseling intern. Our services are confidential.
In a psychiatric emergency, do not reach out to the counseling interns. Instead call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255 or text HELLO to 741741.

I am a third year student at Gordon Conwell studying for my Masters in Counseling. I love being outside walking, playing golf, sitting on the beach, and trying new food. I believe in living simple, being grateful, giving love, and laughing lots.
