Practical ministry experience
The Church Relations Department exists to equip students with real life ministry experience while they are studying here at Northpoint Bible College. It is our goal to connect students with churches in our area to enrich their teaching & training experiences. Our office stands as the bridge between the classroom and the church. While the information that students learn in the classroom is invaluable, it’s crucial that students have a place to take what they learn and apply it in a church setting.
MINISTRY CHURCH EXPO
At the beginning of each school year, our office holds an annual Church Ministry Expo. This event takes place in the first couple weeks of the fall semester. The Ministry Church Expo creates an environment where our ministry churches can come to campus, meet our students, and share about their church as well as the areas of ministry that students would have the opportunity to serve in throughout the school year. Students will have the opportunity to connect with the representatives from each church, build connections, and discover where their gifts and talents can be utilized.
Every full-time, on campus student will either be enrolled in the Christian Service class or a Junior/Senior internship. Students will have the opportunity to choose the church at which they wish to serve in order to meet their necessary requirements based on the approved list of ministry churches represented in our annual expo. Below are the descriptions for the classes.
Christian service class
Every student who is not enrolled in a Junior or Senior internship will be enrolled in the Christian Service class. This class cultivates the space for students to take what they’ve learned in the classroom and apply it in a real life ministry setting. Throughout the course, students will have the opportunity to reflect on their time at the church as well as reflect on how they’ve grown as a student training for excellent pentecostal ministry.
The Junior internship is a comprehensive internship that allows students to serve in each ministry within the church. In doing so, the student establishes a well-rounded foundation for serving in a ministry context.
The Senior internship is a concentrated internship that focuses on the area of ministry the student chooses as their second major or vocational concentration.

The Church Relations Office also posts ministry positions you have open at your church.
If you have a ministry opportunity that your church would like us to post, please provide a brief job description, requirements, qualifications, and a contact person for interested applicants.
At the beginning of each school year, the Church Relations office hosts our annual Ministry Expo. During the Expo, students have the chance to connect with our ministry churches and discover what ministry opportunities are available for them to serve in for the year. Students have a couple weekends to visit churches before they decide which church to serve in for the rest of the school year. Our goal is to make sure students serve in a church that is a good fit for them!
Students who attend school on campus but wish to attend their home church while being a student, have the option to make that their required church. There is a form you will need to fill out in the Church Relations office.
Our Ministry Churches are where our students gain hands on ministry experience. Ministry churches host any students who are not doing a Junior or Senior internship. Their main requirement is to attend church during your scheduled service times, but if you have other ministry opportunities throughout the week, you may invite students to those services as well.
As a ministry church, we require you to be within a reasonable driving distance to the school. Students who serve at your church will be required to attend at least once a week to fulfill their Christian Service class requirements.
Our internship churches are where our Juniors and Seniors enrolled in an internship get plugged into a church in order to meet the necessary requirements during the course of their internship. Internships may be fulfilled either during the school year or over the summer depending on the student’s schedule.
As an internship church, you do not need to be within a reasonable driving distance. If you are close to our main campus, there will be a better chance of having students during the school year. If you are not close to our main campus, there’s a better chance you will be connected with students over the summer.
